Kurt Deng Joins Golin China as Executive Creative Director

Hong Kong: Today, Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) agency Golin has announced the appointment of Kurt Deng to the newly created role of executive creative director to drive earned-first creative in China.

Deng joins the agency with over two decades of multidisciplinary experience, both in PR and advertising, covering healthcare, sports, automobile, lifestyle, food & beverage, consumer technology and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG). He has acquired a flair to communicate creative concepts through engaging storytelling, compelling visuals and immersive experiences that drive business results. Deng reports directly to Lydia Shen, managing director of Golin China.

“Kurt has strong insights and deep understanding in earned media and integrated approaches that drive cultural movements in China,” said Shen. “He is also keenly focused on how creative can drive true business results for clients — a unique skillset that really sets him apart.”

Deng’s career started at McCann Erickson, and then he led the creative team in Ogilvy & Mather PR, followed by Publicis where he developed multiple award-winning campaigns across advertising, PR and integrated communications. Throughout his career, he has worked with numerous brands including Johnson & Johnson, BMS, GSK, Sanofi, Roche, Pfizer, Ford, GM, Unilever, Adidas, Danone, Johnnie Walker, and Goodyear.

Today’s latest announcement from Golin continues to bolster the senior leadership team in China, following the appointment of Zita Wang as head of Integrated Marketing Communications. Whilst across the region, Golin appointed Shouvik Prasanna Mukherjee as Golin Asia’s first chief creative officer.
