September 6, 2021

Ex-BCW’s Ed Green to lead Golin’s consumer practice as Managing Director, Consumer, ex-Cow PR’s Alex Bell joins as Executive Director, Media Relations, and Jo Bromilow joins as Social Strategy Director

LONDON, 6 SEPTEMBER 2021 – Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) agency Golin today brings new industry-leading expertise into the agency with the appointment of Ed Green as Managing Director, Consumer, Alex Bell as Executive Director, Media Relations and Jo Bromilow as Social Strategy Director. All three start their roles with immediate effect.

Ed joins Golin from BCW where he was Managing Director, Consumer Brands, prior to that he was Managing Director of independent consumer shop, Mission. In these roles he has devised and delivered campaigns across the complete A to Z of the world’s most recognised brands – spanning sectors from fashion to retail, technology to lifestyle.

In his new role, Ed is responsible for leading Golin’s consumer practice to expand its capabilities, evolve ways of working and harness the power of an already existing ambitious and dynamic team.  Ed will report into Ondine Whittington, Group Managing Director, Golin and Virgo.

“I am absolutely delighted to have Ed joining us. He brings the perfect blend of big agency integrated thinking and expertise, with the agility and creative agency energy of a boutique – the ideal Golin combination.  He knows how to build high-performing, happy teams, is results driven and client focused, but above that, has an infectious passion for the brands he works on. With his expansive experience across multiple brands and sectors I am really excited by his ambition for how we continue to enhance the work we do for our existing clients, while also diversifying our portfolio into new areas,” said Ondine Whittington, Group Managing Director, Golin and Virgo Health.

“I’m thrilled to start this new term with Golin and supercharge the direction of its consumer team. We’re gonna navigate this new world together, nailing our clients’ new priorities, creative needs and ambitions. Driving some independent thinking within this globally recognised creative comms team, the opportunities are endless!” added Ed Green.

Alongside Ed’s hire, Golin is also strengthening its integrated media relations expertise. Alex Bell takes on leadership of Golin’s media team and will be responsible for driving its clients’ largest consumer PR campaigns and further enhancing the agency’s media capabilities and contacts through her vast black book and network.

“So happy to be here. Lovely team, brilliant clients, and a huge appetite to create work that’s fun, brave and inspiring. What more can I ask for?” said Alex Bell.

Alex joins from Cow PR with over 20 years’ experience in UK and global brand campaigns and a wealth of media relations expertise. This has included working on Heineken’s hugely successful sponsorship of UEFA EURO 2020 Championships and the recently awarded Global Breakthrough Campaign of the year by PRWeek with INTIMINA Period.

Jo Bromilow also joins Golin most recently from Ogilvy and has over a decade’s experience working in digital and social. Jo has worked across a breadth of clients from B2B and B2C, including Microsoft, Cisco, Vodafone, Diageo, Vauxhall and F&F at Tesco.

“The post-pandemic media landscape is shifting faster than ever before and therefore it is vital we take a far more strategic approach to how we earn attention to gain cut through. The combination of Alex and Jo’s experience and expertise will really help us to integrate and leverage traditional, social and influencer to the best advantage for our clients,” said Ondine.

Both these hires will form part of the ever-growing strategy team at Golin, led by the recently appointed Kat Arnull, who joined Golin earlier this year as its UK Group Chief Strategy Officer.
