Golin Sponsors Taiwan Pride Parade 2022

November 1, 2022

Taipei, 1 November 2022: Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) agency Golin Taipei unveiled its bespoke float for Taiwan Pride 2022, as part of its sponsorship of the market’s annual LGBTQ+ pride parade over the weekend.

The first public relations company to sponsor the event, Golin originally participated in Taiwan Pride in 2020, marking the agency’s 20th anniversary in Taipei. With this year’s event theme centering on An Unlimited Future, Golin’s team ideated and designed the parade float inspired by “Letting Love Speak Out Loud“, reflecting inclusivity and expression in a diverse society, communication within public relations, and LGBTQ+ pride itself.

As part of the largest pride event in East Asia, the float design was led by Golin’s Creative Manager Williana Chen. The aesthetic incorporates vibrant rainbow hues and bold geometric shapes in a playful graphic style, with the structure hosting DJs to bring the party to life. The dynamic design also incorporates sunlight rays, representing the dawn of an unlimited future. In a twist on Golin’s ‘Go All In’ rallying cry, over 60 Golin staff and friends encouraged all to #GoAllOut (Golin’s global LGBTQIA Employee Resource Group).

Terry Chiang, Managing Director, Golin Taipei, says, “We are so proud to be celebrating LGBTQ+ pride once again; this is a cause that our people have chosen to support, and one they have designed in entirety. I hope this encourages others to see how the spectrum of DEI work in the region can be expanded. Inclusion is at the core of our values and we encourage our people to embrace their authentic selves to build our culture, so we’re delivering for our people, clients and community”.

Further efforts in the LGBTQ+ space include the team taking part in the Asia Pride Games 2022 – the first international LGBTQ+ sports event in Asia to welcome all gender and sexuality identities. Other recent DEI achievements include the team being awarded silver for Most Influential Foreign Brand in the local media group Womany’s ‘Diversity for Better Tomorrow’ Awards, being shortlisted for Best of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Campaign Asia’s Best Places to Work 2022, and featuring within Golin’s Asia-wide InclusiviTEA initiative.
