Abrams to oversee operations in Atlanta and Miami.

MIAMI (September 6, 2023) – Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) agency Golin announced today the promotion of Ian Abrams to managing director (MD) of its Southeast Region. The agency created this new role in the spring, with Abrams continuing to report to Gary Rudnick, president and COO, Golin.

Based in the agency’s Miami office, Abrams will maintain oversight to its local operations as well as take on expanded leadership for Golin’s Atlanta presence and forge new growth across the Southeast Region. In addition to being MD for the Southeast, Abrams will focus on building Golin’s government contract practice across the U.S.

“Ian is a proven leader in our agency and in the industry. We’re thrilled to recognize his accomplishments by elevating him to managing director in the Southeast region,” said Rudnick. “For many years, Ian has been a senior voice for our Miami operations, while driving the agency’s government contract and consumer health education work. This appointment is a natural progression for Ian and an opportunity to share his talents with more staff and clients.”

Abrams recently helped bring on new clients to Golin’s growing Southeast portfolio, including wins with the American Transaction Processors Association, Eve Air Mobility, FEMA, The Miami Foundation’s “Miami Open for Business Program”, Third Sector Capital Partners and Unidos.

He joined Golin in 1999 and has held roles as VP, SVP and most recently as interim managing director for Golin D.C. For the past 24-years, Abrams built and grew Miami’s “sweet spot” of mission-based work for government agencies, nonprofits and corporations. Under his purview, he led Golin to create some of its signature campaigns – public health awareness work for the CDC and the truth campaign in its formative years, as well as work for the Miami Foundation collaborating with Wells Fargo. He also helped start what is now one of Golin’s longest-standing and largest client relationships with Walmart.

“There’s a real energy and unique perspective for our clients to tap into across the Southeast Region, and I look forward to working with my talented team to establish Golin as the powerhouse it is in those markets,” said Abrams. “We have one of the most diverse workforces within the agency, and the perspectives of those leaders are integral to serving the vast range of clients we have and the variety of audiences they reach.”

As part of Golin’s ongoing commitment to advance DE&I, the agency committed to achieving Census targets by 2025 at all management levels – something that Abrams’ markets already proudly reflect. His multi-market team of 35 specialists supports a strong client roster including longtime relationships with the National Peanut Board, Tobacco Free Florida, federal government work with the CDC, FDA and FEMA, and state government work in Florida, Georgia and a handful of local associations and nonprofits.

Golin also recently appointed Kimberly Brock, MPH as EVP and health equity lead. She and Abrams will partner on expanding the government specialty and focus on health and nutrition business development efforts across the Southeast.
