CHICAGO (January 17th, 2024) – Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) agency Golin announced today the promotion of Ginger Porter to chief client officer. In this newly created role, Porter will shape the agency’s approach to client leadership and work to nurture and grow the agency’s largest client relationships. She will be integral to the development and deployment of tools that address clients’ evolving needs, including the agency’s growing suite of AI solutions, and will spearhead key new business opportunities. The position is effective immediately and she reports to Ellen Ryan Mardiks, chairman, Golin.
“Ginger has an exceptional track record of building trusted client relationships, fueled by her strong business acumen and commitment to their success,” said Mardiks. “She has a real passion for innovation, which clients demand and need now more than ever. A 22-year veteran of the agency, Porter most recently served as president, Central Region, overseeing operations for the company’s headquarters in Chicago since 2017, along with its Dallas operations. During her tenure, Porter consistently and significantly grew the agency’s largest region, was instrumental in adding world-class brands to the client roster, achieved some of the agency’s highest client Net Promotor Scores and helped win the PR industry’s first-ever Cannes Lions Award for earned-first creative with its longest-standing client, McDonald’s. Recent clients added under her leadership include Dyson, GrubHub, Fidelity Investments and NAPA AUTO PARTS.
“Ginger is respected for her passionate leadership, drive and ability to anticipate and capitalize on the fast-changing business environment,” said Gary Rudnick, Golin’s president & COO. “In this new role, I know she will make a positive impact on our clients’ business more broadly, as well as our own.”
A 2023 PRWeek Women of Distinction honoree, Porter has a strong history of identifying new solutions that help prepare Golin and its client partners for the future. She is one of the founding executive champions of Golin’s ‘The Bridge’ – the agency’s decade-strong real-time command center – now operating in 25 markets and supported by almost 200 specialists. Also incubated under her leadership is ‘TrendDrop,’ a proprietary tool that uses both art and science from 150+ global staffers to identify the latest trends, communities, and influencers that consumers are sharing, so Golin’s clients can stay relevant in culture.
“Throughout my career, I’ve been dedicated to growing things and making them better,” said Porter. “I look forward to working in partnership with some of our agency’s most tenacious leaders in our mission to help our clients solve challenges and achieve more business success. It’s a dream job to get to double down on building new solutions that offer more creative brilliance, accelerate growth, and operational excellence, all in pursuit of optimum client outcomes.”
