Setliff to lead Chicago’s corporate communications function and expand the department to better serve its dynamic client roster.

CHICAGO (February 26th, 2024) – Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) agency Golin announced today the appointment of Bevin Setliff to executive vice president, head of corporate for its headquarters (HQ) office in Chicago. In this post, she will expand the department to better serve the agency’s HQ client roster. Setliff officially joined the agency in December and reports to Molly Starmann, associate managing director, Golin Chicago.

Setliff brings more than 20 years of corporate affairs and communications counsel to the agency, working with brands like Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, EMD Serono, Quip, Massage Envy and Aspen Dental Management, Inc. She has reshaped engagement, brand narrative, social responsibility, executive communications and crisis management for some of the world’s leading brands and their most defining campaigns.

“Bevin is a hands-on, results-driven executive who brings agency and in-house experience to this role to help our teams and clients solve their most important and impactful challenges,” said Starmann. “Not only has she been the client herself and can understand the critical nuances they face in today’s ever-changing industry landscape, but she brings exceptional leadership over teams, and she will be an integral executive in our headquarters as the department continues to foster talent, optimize its team and expand to serve the growing client demands.”

Setliff joined Golin from Hill + Knowlton Strategies where she served as the head of product communications for the agency’s Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals practice. Prior, she held leadership roles at Ketchum that reshaped their retail and healthcare division, where she created innovative offerings to stabilize and grow the client roster. On the brand side, Setliff held roles at Kohl’s Department Stores, where she was the chief communications & public relations officer, and The Estée Lauder Companies, as vice president of global communications – contributing to the digital transformation of the company and its 25+ brands.

As head of corporate in Chicago, her first charge will be to elevate the brand reputation of the corporate practice across the Midwest, focusing on growth drivers and internal team development that expand the department. She will bolster the firm’s expertise in delivering corporative narratives that support the complex agenda of today’s C-suite, and provide counsel to address the growing demand the agency is seeing to help CEOs navigate geopolitical and societal issues while also communicating in ways that earn them the trust of their employees. Setliff will also be a senior advisor over some of Golin’s longest-standing and most significant clients, including ADP, Discover, Fidelity, GrubHub, McDonald’s and West Monroe.

“Golin has an incredible roster of client partners who are leading the way in public relations excellence,” said Setliff. “I’m excited to join the agency at a time when corporate communications strategy is at the centerfold of every successful campaign, and I look forward to collaborating with Golin’s talented teams so that we can together span our expertise across industries and tap into that common thread.”

Setliff will lead a team of more than 40 experts who specialize in employee engagement, executive visibility, corporate affairs, crisis management, brand reputation and more. She will also collaborate with Sarah Vellozzi, Golin’s U.S. corporate leader over the Eastern Region, and Lisa Johnson, U.S. corporate health leader, Golin Health, to identify synergies, unlock efficiencies and develop new innovations for the wider practice.
