DALLAS (July 11, 2024) — Golin, an Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) agency, today announced the hiring of two executive creative directors (ECDs) in its US southern region. Ryan Durr joins as ECD for Golin Dallas, reporting to Beth Engelmann, managing director of Golin Dallas. Frank Garcia also rejoins Golin as ECD for Golin Miami, reporting to Ian Abrams, managing director of Golin’s southeast region.
Durr joins Golin Dallas with over 15 years of experience in film and advertising at agencies like Preacher, Team One, The Martin Agency and Pereira & O’Dell. He has created award-winning campaigns for major brands such as Foot Locker, GEICO, Juicy Fruit, the LEGO Group, Lexus and Skittles. At Golin, Durr will lead the creative department in Dallas, overseeing work for clients including Adobe, Cisco and Purina. He will also spearhead new business efforts by developing creative solutions and concepts.
“I’m excited to join the Golin team in Dallas and for the chance to work on such a remarkable collection of world-class, innovative clients,” said Durr. “To collaborate with creative talent performing at the highest level while solving challenges for some of the world’s most elite brands is the dream for any creative professional.”
He is the first-ever head of creative in Golin’s Dallas market, one of the agency’s largest and fastest-growing offices worldwide. Over the next year, he is charged with growing the department and integrating talent into each of the office’s key accounts.
Garcia returns to Golin after a brief stint at Mojo Supermarket as group creative director. He brings over two decades of award-winning creative expertise across PR, advertising and social media, delivering standout pop-culture driven work for major brands like McDonald’s, Meta, Philadelphia Cream Cheese, Popeyes and the Truth Initiative, garnering top honors such as D&AD, One Show, Cannes Lions, Clios and the Webbys, among others. In his new role, Garcia will oversee creative work for key southeast region clients including Celebrity Cruises, the CDC and Hard Rock. Additionally, he’ll collaborate with Golin’s extensive New York creative department on both client work, including marquee Ferrero brands, and new business.
“I’m thrilled to be back at Golin – an agency that values creativity, collaboration and pushing boundaries,” said Garcia. “I’m excited to again work alongside some of the best creative minds who inspire me daily to produce standout earned media work. It’s obvious the agency is investing in some of the best creative talent in the business, and I’m excited to be back in the fold to help drive that creative ambition.”
Beyond spearheading creative excellence in their respective markets, Durr and Garcia also join Golin’s U.S. creative leadership team. In this elevated role, they will collaborate across offices to generate creative synergies, optimize efficiencies and foster increased collaboration alongside recently appointed ECDs in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.
“Ryan and Frank are truly exceptional creative leaders who bring invaluable experience, talent and passion to our agency,” said Ron D’Innocenzo, chief creative officer, Golin North America. “The best ideas must earn attention through bold creativity. Together, they will help us deliver the kind of ideas that drive change and impact for our world-class clients.”
