CHICAGO (February 11, 2025) – Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) agency Golin today announced the appointment of David Lance as Vice President, AI Technology Lead. This strategic hire advances Golin’s transformation to become the first fully AI-integrated global public relations agency by 2026. Based in Dallas, Lance joined the agency on January 21 and reports to Jeff Beringer, Chief AI Officer.

In this newly created role, Lance will architect and implement AI technology solutions specifically designed for public relations and earned media communications. He will lead the development of unique AI-powered capabilities that solve modern PR challenges and reimagine how earned media work gets done, while also supporting the integration of AI solutions from Golin’s parent company, IPG, including its Interact operating system. Lance will partner with Alexandra Ladas, who leads client AI integration, and Joseph Leslie, who oversees global AI learning and development, to ensure new technologies seamlessly enhance team capabilities and client results.

“David’s proven ability to create powerful AI solutions will help us develop technologies that amplify the strategic thinking and creativity that drive earned media success,” said Beringer. “While many are focused on integrating general-purpose AI, David will help us create solutions purpose-built for modern PR challenges, enabling our teams to unlock new possibilities in earned media communications.”

Lance brings more than 20 years of technology leadership experience, most recently serving as Head of AI Platforms & Solutions Architect at WPP agency Bottle Rocket, where he launched multiple market-ready AI products and provided strategic direction to clients across diverse sectors. Throughout his career, he has successfully led the development of enterprise-scale technology solutions that enhance human capabilities through thoughtful AI integration.

“Golin’s vision for AI in PR goes beyond basic application to fundamentally enhance how earned media work gets done,” said Lance. “I’m excited to help create solutions that will empower our teams to deliver even stronger results for clients while shaping the future of modern communications.”

Lance will collaborate with Golin’s global practice area and specialty function leaders to identify opportunities where AI can elevate team performance across strategy, creative, media relations and engagement. He will evaluate emerging AI technologies, expand Golin’s partnerships with tech partners – from leading enterprise AI providers like Anthropic and Adobe to innovative startups – and accelerate the development of proprietary solutions that address PR-specific challenges. This work builds on Golin’s growing portfolio of AI-powered products and services, including solutions for AI-enhanced influencer vetting and selection, content pretesting and optimization, misinformation detection and remediation, data-backed campaign planning and AI-enabled executive media training.

“David’s appointment represents another important investment in Golin’s AI journey,” said Beringer. “We’re building an experienced AI transformation bench that supports our ‘people first’ philosophy to accelerate integration across our client work and enhance the human expertise that drives earned media success.”
