NEW YORK (March 20, 2025) – Golin, an Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) agency, announced today the appointment of Tyler Spalding as Executive Vice President, U.S. Executive Positioning Leader. In this newly created role, Spalding will expand the agency’s executive positioning offering and strategic thought leadership capabilities to support companies and C-suite leaders as they navigate the complexity of today’s evolving stakeholder landscape. He reports to Megan Noel, Global President, Corporate Affairs.
Spalding joins the agency after more than a decade at PayPal, where he most recently served as Senior Director, Corporate Affairs & Global Head of Social Impact and Sustainability. During his tenure, he played a leadership role in establishing and growing the company’s global Corporate Affairs function since its independence from eBay Inc. Spalding led communications and thought leadership for the President & CEO through significant periods of growth and transformation for the company and the broader fintech ecosystem. He also built and grew a leadership communications team that advised on and coordinated across the programs for the rest of the executive team. Spalding’s deep in-house experience extends across all corporate affairs disciplines, having also led PayPal’s people and culture communications team, social impact and sustainability functions, and long-term strategic partnerships with leading organizations.
“In today’s complex environment, corporate affairs has never been more critical to business success. Strategic stakeholder engagement and reputation management are essential for leaders to drive transformation and deliver long-term growth,” said Spalding. “The communications and positioning of C-suite leaders requires careful development, and we have a unique opportunity to further develop Golin’s capability to meet our clients’ expanding needs. I’m excited about Golin’s integrated corporate affairs vision and look forward to working with our world-class teams to apply my in-house experience across the full spectrum of companies we serve.”
In this post, Spalding will work with Sarah Vellozzi, U.S. Corporate Affairs practice leader and others across the U.S. Corporate Affairs practice, to help clients amplify their leadership voice and drive business impact through strategic narrative development and integrated media engagement. He will also serve as a senior counselor to a range of clients who are looking for guidance on how to navigate the new playbook within the C-suite.
Before joining PayPal, Spalding held various leadership positions at eBay Inc., Edelman, and Ashoka. An advocate for social and environmental progress, he serves on the Boards of Directors for the Association for Enterprise Opportunity (AEO) and Junior Achievement of New York, as well as the Corporate Advisory Board for Save the Children. Spalding is an Aspen Institute First Mover Fellow, a City & State NY Responsible 100 honoree, and a PRovoke Media Rising Star.
“Tyler brings a rare combination of both agency and in-house corporate affairs expertise and strategic vision that will significantly enhance our ability to serve clients navigating today’s complex stakeholder landscape,” said Noel. “His decade of experience building PayPal’s executive positioning program from the ground up gives him invaluable insight into what C-suite leaders truly need from their agency partners. Tyler’s appointment also represents our commitment to investing in specialized talent that can deliver transformative results for our clients. His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to expand our capabilities globally and cement our position as the agency of choice for clients.”
This appointment is part of Golin’s broader strategy to strengthen and deepen expertise across its Global Corporate Affairs practice. The agency recently welcomed Stephanie Manzini to its Corporate Affairs practice in London, bringing her extensive experience in geopolitics, global media relations, and crisis communications across many sectors. Golin also recently launched the CEO Impact Index, a proprietary study analyzing and ranking communications strategies of the Fortune 500’s top 250 CEOs across eight critical dimensions.
