Bentwood to build upon Relevance IP and enhance data-driven tools and technologies across the agency
LONDON (November 15, 2017) – Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) agency Golin has appointed Jonny Bentwood as head of data & analytics globally. In his new role, Bentwood will work with Golin’s digital, research and data and analytics experts around the world to bring new tools, technologies and intellectual property to everyone in the agency to help develop deeper insights and braver creative. Bentwood is based in Golin’s London office and reports to Jon Hughes, CEO+ International.
“Many people say that marketing and communications is not exactly rocket science. I’ve probably said it myself in the past,” said Hughes. “But now, it actually is. Progressive clients are demanding insights steeped in data, creative built upon sophisticated research and the business impact of every idea proven. Our industry has always been a mixture of art and science, but getting the science piece right has never been more critical. Jonny truly is a rocket scientist and his mission is to fuse new tools, thinking and data with great creative.”
Bentwood will play a key leadership role in the global Explorer community, made up of experts in research, analytics and planning. This group was instrumental in the launch of Golin’s first-ever Global Relevance Review earlier this year; revealing what drives relevance for brands in 13 markets across the globe.
“I am a firm believer that data powers creative,” said Bentwood. “Gone are the days of making decisions around client programs based purely on instinct. Golin understands the shift that has taken – and continues to take – place in our industry and is committed to investing in growing this expertise. I’m excited to work with the talented team already in place and to help grow this important piece of the business.”
Most recently, Bentwood served as chief innovation officer at Edelman Intelligence, the global market research and strategic consulting arm of Edelman. He has a successful track record creating award-winning analytics and measurement tools, including the Command Center, TweetLevel, BlogLevel and the patented Flow140.
