CHICAGO (January 25, 2021) – Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) agency Golin announced today that corporate communications veteran Claire Koeneman has joined the firm as North American corporate communications practice lead. Based in Golin’s headquarters office, she officially began on January 4.
Koeneman has compiled a distinguished portfolio of work over her 26-year career, engaging with companies and C-suite leaders on transforming their communications to achieve business goals. She has significant expertise in strategic planning, corporate communications & reputation management, internal communications, media strategy & engagement, IR/capital markets transactions, as well as crisis communications.
“Our corporate communications business had unprecedented growth in 2020,” said Scott Farrell, global president of Golin’s corporate communications practice. “Claire’s deep experience, expertise and proven track record in winning new business, expanding existing client relationships and leading work that delivers business results, strengthens our team immensely and puts us on a trajectory for continued growth in 2021 and beyond.”
Most recently, Koeneman was a partner with Bully Pulpit Interactive (BPI). As the Chicago market leader, she created and led integrated campaigns for an impressive roster of corporate communications clients. Previously, Koeneman was executive vice president, corporate communications for Hill + Knowlton and before that, president of MWWPR/Financial Relations Board.
“I am excited to join the Golin family and have known and admired the team for years. I look forward to building on the strong momentum in the Corporate practice and working across the agency to add value to the corporations and brands we represent,” said Koeneman. “Golin has cutting-edge digital, analytics & creative capabilities, and our Corporate clients are seeing the power of those coupled with our strategic communications expertise. Plus, my new colleagues have been incredibly collaborative, and I can’t wait to continue to grow our integrated offerings.”
Koeneman’s first charge at the agency will be to bring a perspective shaped by her diverse experience to corporate communications strategy for some of Golin’s enterprise accounts, including working on several recent new wins as well as our long-standing marquee names. She will also lead new business efforts across the region, contributing to global growth efforts and working in collaboration with Golin Group brands, IPG DXTRA and IPG.
“With the growth we are seeing in the corporate sector, along with the potential for so much more, we simply couldn’t pass on the opportunity to add somebody of Claire’s caliber to our North American leadership team, said Gary Rudnick, Golin’s president and COO. “She offers our clients and our people a wealth of knowledge and expertise, coupled with an insatiable desire to deliver.”
