Agency’s Success in Technology and Healthcare Communications Tapped to Elevate Monogram’s Innovation in Orthopedic Surgery

SAN FRANCISCO (April 27, 2021) – Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) agency Golin, announced today a new partnership with Monogram Orthopedics, a medical technology company poised to disrupt the total joint replacement market in orthopedics with robotics and personalized implants. Monogram awarded Golin PR Agency of Record to lead all communications. Work started earlier this month and is serviced out of San Francisco.

Golin’s first remit is to design a brand narrative and launch a storytelling initiative to shine the light on Monogram’s first-of-a-kind precision implants that have the potential for longer-lasting implant placement and better patient outcomes. As part of the program, the Golin team will also help establish Monogram as a thought leader and disruptor in a space dominated by large institutional players.

“There is a massive convergence happening in technology and healthcare right now,” said Matthew Lackie, president, global technology practice & managing director, Golin San Francisco. “With Golin’s expertise in both of these areas, we are uniquely positioned to support companies like Monogram that have compelling healthcare and technology stories to tell. Monogram is a great addition to our portfolio, and it’s incredible to partner with another innovator that is inspired to challenge industry norms in order to improve the standard of care and deliver better patient outcomes.”

“Our mission has always been to make orthopedics personal, which is a change from the current standard of care in this industry,” said Benjamin Sexson, CEO of Monogram Orthopedics. “Patients and healthcare providers all benefit by advanced technology and modernized orthopedic techniques. We know that the Golin team will help us raise awareness of our products and elevate how we communicate to the world about our company.”

Monogram Orthopedics was co-founded by Sexson and practicing Mount Sinai New York orthopedic surgeon, Douglas Unis, who participated in clinical research and partnered with companies and patients to understand the developments needed to advance the orthopedics space. That research informed Monogram Orthopedics’ focus to revolutionize joint implant surgery in a whole new way.
