WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

 

We’re looking for an Account Manager to lead an independent team in Beijing, driving PR success for one of the top automotive brands in the world. This position will oversee key client relationships, manage strategic media relations, and guide a team to deliver exceptional results. The role reports to the Senior Account Manager, Public Affairs & Corporate Communications in Shanghai.

Responsibilities

Client

  • Serve as key day-to-day client contact with a strong understanding of client’s business and industry
  • Assist in the development and management of client budgets
  • Manage multiple projects for a variety of clients, if necessary, from concept to completion on time and within budget
  • Proactively generate new ideas and opportunities to ensure client program success
  • Provide client counsel on tactical matters, linked to strategic plans
  • Conduct and manage the flow of information necessary to analyze client issues
  • Lead client meetings, develop client presentations

 

Media

  • Draft media relations materials
  • Demonstrate a well-developed knowledge of relevant client media categories, including business, finance, technology, automotive and more
  • Pitch media persuasively, make pitch recommendations and coordinate regular media desk side briefings
  • Generate ideas for media outreach and pitch efforts
  • Stay informed on media trends, identify media interests, and develop trend reports.

 

Writing

  • Develop proposals, releases, bylined articles and other press materials in Simplified Chinese and English
  • Proof and edit client related documents as needed
  • Instruct staff in the areas of writing and editing as necessary
  • Contribute to the development of strategic client plans
  • Proofread and edit various content types, including PR assets, social content, internal communications, and CSR materials

 

Event Management

  • Develop, plan, and execute PR events, media gatherings, and brand activations
  • Manage or supervise end-to-end event logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, and on-site execution (eg: product launchers, satellite media tours, client events, etc.)
  • Manage event budgets and ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, and digital, to ensure integrated event communications.
  • Oversee guest lists, RSVPs, and VIP protocols.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and bring fresh, creative event concepts to the table.
  • Monitor event performance metrics and provide analysis and recommendations for future improvements.

Team Support

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop multiple junior team members, providing coaching and guidance
  • Balance workload between accounts and account staff to ensure that all work is accurate and completed within established deadlines
  • Assign and oversee workload distribution to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Serve on internal committees; conduct in-house training sessions
  • Talk intelligently about agency at internal and external meeting and industry functions
  • Assume responsibility and ownership for the quality of your and your team's work; oversee team output quality and support junior colleagues and those from diverse backgrounds
  • Master the Continuous Performance Management (CPM) process and understand how staying updated on goals and quarterly check-ins.

 

Administrative Support

  • Code, track and approve invoices and coordinate with the Accounting Department
  • Track/enter time in a precise and timely manner
  • Assist in account budgeting recommendations
  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned

Professional Experience

4+ years related professional experiences in Corporate Communications.

Competence

  • Excellent oral and written business communication skills in English and Chinese
  • Possess quality and effective presentation skills, articulate ideas clearly and accurately
  • Possess logical thinking skills and actively take responsibility for both individual and team
  • Have strong organizational, project management, and multitasking skills.
  • Able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment, with strong stress resistance, and a willingness to learn and explore new areas
  • Develop and maintain an intermediate financial understanding of the agency; know the importance of billability and how revenue is created
  • Ability to train, mentor, and develop junior staff members
  • Translate client business goals into PR strategies, anticipating challenges and delivering solutions.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work culture and accept cross-city work
