Account Manager, Consumer Health

We’re looking for a media savvy Account Manager to work on leading consumer health and sports brands. The ideal candidate will have excellent media relations expertise and contacts, particularly with consumer lifestyle and consumer health/wellbeing journalists. Curating stories and generating earned media coverage is central to this role; being part of a fast-paced press office as well as managing media engagement in high profile consumer campaign launches. The role also involves managing a range of experts and influencers from KOLs to celebrity talent. Strong project management, client service and writing skills are a must!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop materials that are tailored to different audiences
  • Write, edit and help craft on-message content, demonstrating the ability to use client’s brand voice
     
     
  • Use your understanding of the media landscape to target journalists and strategies to gain the best cut-through when selling in
     
  • Continue to develop and build on your presentation skills by delivering and developing presentations for both client and internal meetings
     
  • Possess a strong understanding of the agency’s proprietary tools and know when it is appropriate to use them
     
  • Identify media/digital insights and trends; understand how to turn analytics into actionable recommendations
     
  • Execute live events with logistics, coordination and on-site media support
     
  • Ensure all work is compliant and in accordance with regulations (e.g., GDPR)
     
  • Research and monitor media, influencers and competitors’ channels for relevant action and to guide strategy
  • Manage client requests and troubleshoot issues were necessary
     
  • Actively contribute to development of detailed project plans including timelines and budgets
     
  • Effectively manage medium projects from start to end, including effective time and project management, factoring in senior review, editorial and design
     
  • Take personal responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of projects against agreed plans and budget, proactively flagging any changes or delays to clients with solutions  
     
  • Prioritising your own workload and those of your team to deliver work to deadline, troubleshooting and offering solutions as needed
     
  • Support senior leads in financial oversight and management of projects, including budget trackers, invoicing, budgeting and forecasting
     
  • Be responsible for building relationships with mid-level clients
     
  • Develop strong relationships with day-to-day clients, providing counsel (with input from senior team) as required
     
  • Identify opportunities for organic growth with existing clients and support senior team in the development of new business pitches

 Requirements:

  • A few years’ experience in consumer health/wellbeing at a consumer or healthcare communication agency 
     
  • Highly skilled in generating media coverage in consumer health and lifestyle media
     
  • Experience earning the confidence of clients and establishing relationships
  • Experience developing content for consumer audiences including media materials 
     
  • Good organisational skills and ability to coordinate workload effectively
     
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
     
  • Understanding of new business and pitching
     
  • Enthusiastic to learn new skills as part of a high-performing team
