PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Client

  • Ability to work on multiple programs at once under tight deadlines.

§  Manage several accounts and act as the main point of contact for clients and the account team

§  Keep the team on track through timely and financially responsible deliverables, while also supporting and developing account teams

§  Make decisions that push our client’s business forward by applying creative and strategic thinking to plans, programs, and campaigns

§  Provide day-to-day counsel that helps solve business problems

§  Identify all opportunities through competitive and industry insights and trends.

§  Lead client meetings and presentations through strong verbal communication

  • Manage client programs/campaign scoping, budgeting, planning, and execution
  • Managing all media relations and traditional PR activity such as earned campaigns, sponsored content, consumer surveys, events and activations
  • Develop campaign and event wrap reports and conduct post-mortems with the team
  • Crisis issue management and monitoring

 

 

Media

  • Develop earned media strategies for campaigns, and creating media plans, and compile media lists for thought leadership programs, and real-time news events that lead to ongoing, positive brand mentions for clients.
  • Engage with clients and agency partners on a regular basis to create innovative PR programs that help shine a positive light on the client, its key spokespersons, and the brand, in addition to reaching new audiences who are receptive to the client’s services.
  • Ability to provide clients with media prep for interviews and events
  • Proven experience working with media and influencers and a strong portfolio of story placements; a passion for building relationships with anyone from a trade media website editor to the most influential names at well-known media outlets.
  • Effectively guide the client’s messaging and storytelling across multiple channels to resonate with different audiences.
  • Play a key role in coordinating influencer, celebrity, and media partnerships by researching, vetting, and negotiating contracts, preparing briefs, directing content and messaging, managing relationships and KPIs
  • Stay ahead of media by identifying emerging small business trends that can create story opportunities relevant to the client’s brand.
  • Manage or supervise all aspects and logistics of media events (eg: press briefings, CEO interviews, media tours, desk-side briefings, editor events, panel discussions, and speaking opportunities etc.)

§  Have a curiosity for analytics and the ability to turn a few pieces of data into actionable insights to influence our client’s messaging and media outreach strategy.

 

Writing

  • Well-versed in AP style and highly adept at writing various types of content from client briefs to full-year plans, new business proposals, holding statements, press releases, by-line articles, media pitches, and other press materials and company collaterals
  • Proofread and edit client-related documents
  • Train junior team members in copywriting and editing as needed

 

Team Participation

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and client teams at all levels.
  • Play an active role in new business development and the overall growth of the agency

§  Have the ability to effectively and efficiently lead multiple accounts, including budgetary management

§  Collaborate with internal and external teams across multiple disciplines to successfully manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges.

  • Exceptional judgment when working with team members, client contacts, and vendors
  • Solid experience managing and mentoring junior employees (associate, coordinator, interns)

 

Administrative Support

§  Proficient at building project scopes and budgets, managing and tracking budgets, and having an aptitude for financial analysis.

 

 

 

 

 

 

What you’ll bring

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

 

Professional Experience

  • 3+ years related professional experience in Corporate area
  • Internship experience in a public relations or related environment highly desired

 

Qualifications

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and superior client service skills, including the ability to remain calm under the pressure of a demanding client team and find solutions to any issues that may arise
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills are a must, along with the ability to meet deadlines, juggle multiple tasks, and a handle fast-paced environment.
  • Be proactive and highly motivated; demonstrate the ability and desire to work independently and confidently, but as part of a team.
  • Proven media skills and a solid understanding of digital and social platforms as well as current trends within the e-commerce landscape
  • Experience working in a large agency, with consumer and corporate clients
  • Solid crisis management skills
  • Familiarity with analytical and measurement tools
  • Expert MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Proven creative and strategic thinker
  • Exceptional verbal skills, confident speaker/ presenter and persuasive in the room
